Has your coach been telling you that you are doing something wrong but do not know how to fix it? with? If so, this page is for you. Simply submit your question below and I will respond to you personally along with posting your question and my response on this page. |
plate. The reason I say that is because he takes a lot of good pitches and the bat never leaves his shoulder. All his coach does is tell him to be more aggressive. Do you have any advice? Frank Milford, PA Hi Frank Congratulations on being the first person to submit a question. This is a very good question as well. There is a mental concept which I refer to as the "YES, YES, ______" concept. It totally deals with a hitters mental approach and readiness to hit. As the pitcher is about to release the ball, the hitter's physical and mental readiness should elevate At this time, a hitter should be telling him self YES, YES and then react to the pitch. If it is a good pitch, the third blank should be filled in with another YES resulting in a swing attempt. If the pitch is out of the zone, this equates to a NO and results in the pitch being taken. Keep me posted. Dave V. More on the mental approach. |
